On June 30, the North-south highway connection of Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge, the first rail-cum-road suspension bridge in China built by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group Co., Ltd. was opened to traffic. This highway is equipped with big data, cloud computing and other technologies, and is the first "future highway" in China.
Since October 2015, thousands of MBEC bridge builders have taken root at the foot of Wufeng Mountain and working hard for the construction of the bridge.
During the construction period of more than 5 years, the builders planned ahead and organized carefully to overcome difficulties such as complex geological conditions, difficult steel girders manufacturing and installation, high main cable installation accuracy and linear debugging requirements, strict environmental protection requirements, and high safety risks. The technical and management advantages of the bridge national team have adopted a series of new processes, new technologies, and new equipment.
Wufengshan Yangtze River Bridge is the first rail-cum-road suspension bridge in China, and it is also the fastest and largest loaded highway railway suspension bridge in the world. The bridge has a total length of 6409km with the main span of 1092m. The lower layer is a 4-line high-speed railway (two lines reserved) with a design speed of 250 km/h. The upper layer is a dual-way 8-lane highway with a design speed of 100 km/h.
