On March 14, 2014, the successful closure of side span for Xinzhuang Major Bridge in Yixing City undertaken by 2nd Engineering Company of MBEC marks the pushing hard for final construction phase of Xinzhuang Major Bridge. MBEC project office for Xinzhuang Major Bridge attachés great attention to the closure of side span for major bridge continuous girders by organizing strong technical team to discuss and examine the closure proposal, and adopting effective measures to control key procedures and controlling points. All complex working procedures including but not limited to dismantling form traveler, erecting scaffolding for side span closure segments, fastening rebar, welding rigid supports, tensioning prestressing tendons etc. had been completed in sequence so as to lay the foundation for the successful closure of first side span. Xinzhuang Major Bridge in Yixing City is a major bridge spanning over Fushen Canal in Taihu Avenue comprising of (67+110+67)m large span prestressing concrete continuous beams with varied depth for major bridge. The continuous beams are skew intersected with Fushen Canal with skew angle of 29.3°having full width of 52m. It is composed of south bound and north bound having with of 23.5m for each bund. The bottom slabs for box girders have a width of 20.5m by adopting single box four cell section. Upon its completion, it will become a new landscaping corridor connecting Donggui New Township and Taihu Shoreline in Yixing City, effectively improve traffic conditions of developing areas and stimulating the development of surrounding areas. Currently, the construction of approach slab hinged joint and paving of asphaltic concrete for Xinzhuang Major bridge in Yixing City have been fully completed. The outstanding ancillary works of bridge surface are progressively advanced and the crash barriers and handrail bedding have been completed by 60%. |
